After the CCA is been de-paneled I find exposed board fibers. Should the board edge be sealed with an epoxy to keep moisture from getting into the CCA?

IPC-A-610F 10.2.6 Laminate Conditions - Depanelization talks to the acceptability of the depanelization criteria for assembled boards. There is no requirement for moisture sealing with epoxy or other material. Basically, the standard requires that th

Lemme tell ya, those are weird looking pix. If OSP boards have not been dried properly prior to bagging and sealing, water can leak from via and ruin the OSP, which will turn black.

Dennis, I've seen this before, and in our case we didn't need to seal the edges because there was no concern of shorting or anything in the end product, this is a choice you will have to make, Does your end product have any protrusions or mounting h

Dear all, We have a PCB design mistake that causes exposed copper layers on the edges of breakaway locations. Although we fixed the design, but we already made a lot of boards plus many made before we found the problem. I wonder if any one have some

Hi Liza - polystirene monolayer (blend ?) could be sealed at less presure, ie 35-40 PSI. Temprature could be 165-170C. For sure after sealed you shoud make sure the sealing strength (peel strength)should meet min 15-25 N.(bet avg from 25 to 45 N)

Tony Although I agree in principle with Dean that 45 Degrees would be ideal, most of the squeegees I have worked with have been 60 Degrees to the stencil surface. This seems to work best with metal squeegees when printing HASL boards, because the sl

Well, to be honest, we have not had any problems with this. We tested several old frames we had inhouse, and put them in our washers for 50 cycles, and they did not get any fluid in the frames. We simply attach the labels with sheet metal screws in

We try and do it all (Vac pack, dessicant, indicator card, MSL level, PBT, end termination material etc.) however it throws a spanner in the works if you pull a manufacturer's sealed pack from stock and the vacuum has gone where an edge of a tray has

After thinking some more: Feeder offset is usually an averaged number... If feeders get erratic feeder offset goes wacky. Nozzles don't seal, components slip and vision isn't getting the true pick position. And worse they may move again post vision
