Hi Rene Great, I am glad to see that you are recommending by experience placement control as affected by the pick operation. Neat to see you are also noting a thinner paste deposition. YiEng, MA/NY DDave

We don't see very much MCC shorting, except after over-voltage. We see much more in the opens category. Were these puppies shorted out of the box?

We're just now beginning to see 0402's in our designs. Can anyone make recommendations on stencil/aperture designs and print parameters? I'm seeing skips on a small number of joints on these parts. Thanks in advance, John

We do perform multiple reflow only for reliability testing. 90% of the time we have not seen any change in the solder joint and no change in electricals. If you do see failure you might want to see the solderability of the surface finish too.. jus

Rob's comments make sense. Responding to your question: * Sometimes you can see a resistance change * Sometimes you can see a leakage change

Rule 1: Clean it as soon as you see it! Don't let it dry. It's harder to clean up and can be easily injested when in a dry powder form. Rule 2: See rule 1

I don't believe that you are seeing black pad. I think you are seeing an oxidized pad from your statement that these pads take solder. I would guess that these will be fine. But I would re-tin all pads prior to attaching the BGA to make sure.

The cleaner does have a dryer, but does not remove all moisture - we can see that. It is functioning - we can see that too.

Can you see the little dots on top of part? there should be three colored dots. If you can see then that tells you the value. Russ
