Problem with shielding component

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 10 09:57:08 EST 2007 | realchunks

Shields can carry a large thermal mass. If you ever tried removing one in repair, you'd find out how hard they can be. Also, they do deflect air flow. So in a convection oven, your air flow will be turbulent, which also will affect your reflow.

All, We have ran a few revisions of a New Product which is a tracking device using satellite navigation. The protos went well but now they have added a shielding can. We place 2 of these to cover the Frontend of the PCB. The test guys are having d

Not unless it's a case of "the only difference is..." What I mean by that is more than once I've been told the only difference in a new rev is one component or one change. But the truth was that was the only reason for the change, and in fact there

Is the failure just out of tolerance or is it non functioning? For tolerance problem, compare the x-rays of the good and bad units. It will take a very high resolution x-ray to spot the differences. Changes in capacitance values can occur based on

Depending on the shield, the PCB, and the parts under the shield, we usually place all the parts, then the shield and reflow them all. The shields usually have breakaways on the top so you can still inspect the components under the shield.

Thermal Profiler Shield

Ok, thank you. I want to reduce the maximum temperature that the profiler reaches. I reckon that I need to get a shielding box for it. Can anyone recommend a shield that is cheaper from a UK supplier. 525 from KIC's distributor is too expensive.

Hey, I thought you were in the BIG house on some trumped-up tax rap. We use many RF shields each month. Generally, the shields are not plated and made of alloy 770 (or alloy 752), half hard temper, as the base material. * Alloy 770; 55%Cu, 27%Zn,

Removal of Hot Metal Shield for Rework

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 14 09:16:45 EST 2001 | gsmguru

In the past I've removed shields with a dedicated hot air machine. (Similiar to an SRT) This machine could remove and replace shields using a stereo microscope and a positioning system. Basically a special nozzle is designed for each type of shield.

How to prevent Bluetooth Module BGA short anybody?

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 25 00:07:23 EST 2005 | pyramus

Nope actually the whole bluetooth component is a raw part comprising of BGA and chip components in one small PCB wherein this whole assembly is encased in a shield. So basically when we recieve the part we can only see the shield and some minor chi
