I think Siemens 80 S20 is a great machine. I worked on them for a few years, with very little problems. They are extremely easy to maintain. I think a complete PM took about an hour. The software is good and user friendly. You can change one over

No. The Sitest button is greyed out. Can I install a regular windows version of NT 4.0, or does it have to be a Siemens version of windows?

Chris, It's been a while since I used a Siemens, but I was thinking its starting communication to Gantries, tables, and WPC for Axis zeroing. Like I said its been awhile! When replacing drive, did you copy the *.ma files back to the drive? Tom

I did restore the .ma files, and yes, the computer does communicate with the gantries for zeroing. But the machine is still hung on "initializing machine". It never asks me to push the start button. It is like it is trying to collect necessary dat

You have to install the RMOS to MC's HDD. The RMOS Version must match with the station software. After Install RMOS you have to perform machine distribution.

I think it is in the ideal.ma or actual.ma file. You could also use the first RMOS boot disk. This will ask you for it there.
