Clayton On the tray tower, the tray that's at the pick-up level flags a sensor at the back of the tray right next to the lead screw. This sensor needs to be made to zero the machine. Either the trays are out of position or the sensor is bad. Jerr

We have, in the past, made our own trays for loose parts and put them in the tray tower. Of course someone has to put the parts into the tray so you may not be saving any labor but the machine placement should be faster. BR, Mac

You can also do what I was doing before we found the one at Nix. We simply used double-sided tape and taped the carrier tape down on to the floors of the tray tower. Can't get much more 'simpler' than that!!!

The QP242 is a modular placer. If you have the BS (single head)module with the MTU7 tray unit you can most definitely place this device. If you have the BI units with no tray tower it is doubtful.

Currently we place them using the tray system and need to become more efficient. Any ideas? Tubes? Also we have limited space in our tray tower.

Alan, Just so you have something to compare with, Fuji also carries a solution for your current issue. It allows them to place tape parts on a fixture that allows you to fit up to 20 different parts in the tray tower. It looks like a std. JEDEC tray

Yes Siemens has a fixed tray feeder for matrix trays. If I remember correctly the tray will occupy 1/2 of the table.The feeder is a two part system 1) is the base 2) the the flat tray (just like what is used in the waffle pack changer). the flat tray
