I've been looking for a vision system which can check our fully mounted boards containing a mix of smt and thru hole. The concepts on all the machines are virtually the same, they got about 12-16 cameras, some pcb fixing and the rest is software.

We have an Advantis and it's great for low volume, high mix (flexjet head). If you have good CAD data to upload, it takes little time to program as you can update vision on parts and placements while you are actually building boards ("NPI mode"). I

Since you asked for more here is my $ .02. There are many different vision systems, camera and software combinations that will make each make and model machine work differently. For instance a 1999 Siplace machine might work best with a 1.5mm round F
