We are having a process related problem with pullup resistors on a controller card which has a I960 micro-processor. The controller monitors signal inputs and it's own resources then blinks a LED to indicate its working. The problem is that after a p

Hi There Good point from all contributers.Depending on the coast effect and production ability we used a heat resistant coating directly applied to the plastic base of the PCI connector in a very dense SMT PCB.we used a short pulse soldering by run

Does any one know of a supplier high temperature PCB ink that can safely used between pads on an SMT connector. The product ideally should be screened on and have resistant to short exposure to heat from a selective lazer. Must be non-conductive and

Do you glue SMT parts on the bottom? If so, use your SMT glue to prevent the short. Just cut a new stencil with 0.020" wide apertures between the pads of the connector (bottom side). We do it all the time.

Hi - maybe FINETECH (http://www.finetech.de ) can help you. They did evaluate the reworkability of SAMTEC connectors. The FINEPLACER Pico offers 5 m placement accuracy (http://www.finetech.de/enid/picors ) - the precise placement should not be much

Hi all I am having a reflow problem. Recently we started using a through hole connector with solder flux bearing technology on a densly populated board. The connector reflows at the same time as the smt components through reflow. The problem I am ha

Short answer is yep, if you are centering on the nubs and not the leads. Depending on the registartion between nubs and leads you may then have misplacement. Holes as fids will usually let you down at some stage due to vision issues. Blunt drills bla

We are having trouble with some through-hole connectors "shorting out" on a thick backplane. Preliminary research is suggesting that it may be due to excess flux, trapped under the plastic connector shell. I have done a bit of searching in the fine S

Pallet angle is usually pretty good. Lead length is also another good thing to keep as short as possible. Air Knives don't work that well. Also check your board. Make sure you have solder resist between each and every thru-hole pad. If the board
