Running with sn100c in my solder pot!

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 27 08:38:03 EDT 2006 | cuculi54986@yahoo.com

I tried some SN100C from AIM... On only one array. It flowed well on the chips but did not like the finish on the SOT23's on the board. I did not have enough arrays to mess around, so we switched it over to SAC305 and had no issues. I'm guessing w

Studies showed that there are no issues mixing SN100C and SAC305, I believe that AIM has this info. Russ

SAC 305 Reflow & SN100C Wave and Selective

Is there anybody out there doing this scenario: SAC 305 Reflow & SN100C Wave and Selective Can the 2 alloys be mixed on 1 board, say, SAC 305 for SMT, and SN100C for thru-hole? Are 2 different rework chemistries needed, or can one use SN100c wire

SN100C vs. SAC 305 wave soldering

We have used the SN100C for over a year now with fanastic results. We use the SAC305 for SMT and SN100C wire exclusively. There are no problem mixing the alloys. I am also on the commitee for the NASA testing. The SN100C did out perform SAC and SnPb

Just wondering what the companies that are use SN100C are using for reflow (I guess SAC), and especially for handsoldering. Do SAC and SN100C mix? are there any studies proving this?

Mixing lead free chemistry

I have the ability to offer both SAC and SN100C lead free alloys to my customer base. What might occur if a customer is already using SAC305 in their wave and they want to save money and go to SN100C. They now are mixing, tin, silver, copper with tin,c

We switched to Sn100C on 2 waves and kept one with SAC305. The SAC305 will be converted to SN100C as soon as the Aim rep. delivers it next week.

SN100C vs. SAC 305 wave soldering

We are using SAC for reflow because of the lower temp and better wetting and copper disolution is not so much an issue in reflow. There is not much difference in the alloys and they can be mixed with no problems. I assume any supplier of SN100C cou

Russ is correct. We have been using SAC 305 for SMT and SN100C for wave and selective and repair for about a year. May switch to SN100C in SMT at some point if we can get some paste that wets better.

Steps to Convert SAC305 Wave Solder Pot to SN100C

I was wondering if someone could tell me the steps they went through to convert a SAC305 Wave Solder pot over to SN100C. I'm having wave solder problems with SAC305 and I'm considering a change to SN100C. Didn't know if it was a -in replacement or
