Hi. I'm new in bussines. I have a DEK screen printer and I have to choise solder paste and flux. It has to be lead-free. What do you recomand? Of course it has to be cheap and good. :)

Your best bet would be to browse through you current solder suppliers catalog and pick your alloy. Most of them have a list of alloys and their melting points as well as what form they can be supplied in.

mid chip solder balls we had that trouble for awhile we went from a 8 mil thick stencil to 6 mil stencil and did some home plate style of cut outs in the stencil for the 1206 caps and resistors it seemed to fix our mid chip solder balls

We use to use a malcom mixer but found it caused problems of solder/flux separation. This may be causing you problems. Earl Jr

Sounds like a good challenge. What is your interconnect bond method? Solder Paste, Pre-Form/Liquid Flux or Paste, Assuming your using solder. Reflow method?

Some solder paste formulations can be frozen with no effect. Other formulations ... not so much. Can you compare this questionable solder paste with 'known good' paste of this part number in a structured test?

Thanks for the comments, I will take the rocks out of my head, throw in a little lead from my ___ and save some $ on solder........... Seriously, will look into some of these ideas, or some iron weights/slabs from metal store P
