I am looking at dispensing solder paste using a Fuji GLV glue dispenser. This is to enable us to produce prototype pcb's without the need to purchase a stencil. Has anybody tried this before? If so what problems should I expect to encounter.

The FGLV has a air pressure displacement valve, which is designed for adhesives. A positive displacement valve is better suited for solder pastes. Check with Fuji to see if they offer optional valves.

We are looking for a new machine to replace our Asymtek C-708 that we use for wave masking. Asymtek offers a D-585 but we were looking for something better then a table top unit. Any recommendations on a company or machine? Thanks

Does anyone out there have experience dispensing solder paste with a Universal GDM (4716AL) with positive displacement pumps? I'd like to hear any comments on the success or failure of the machine to dispense consistently, effect of temperature varia

With a standard valve and no-clean solder paste you may get a few good dots. But, repeatability will be terrible too many variable, air-pressure, board height (two post nozzle), valve time on/off, retract height, retract time, etc... A RMA paste wi

Has anybody successfully used an automated dispensing system to put solder paste dots on .5 mm pitch pads?? I need to replace some Meritec tsop sockets and I don't want to use the single site stencils for .5 mm parts.

Use a spray fluxer, like those used in wave soldering. Search the fine SMTnet Archives for supplier names. We understand that spray fluxing is significantly different than dispensing. What do you want/expect to accomplish by dispensing liquid flux

I am looking for a consistent method of applying no clean liquid flux to solder pads. My main concern is if I use a standard air-over type dispenser mounted to an automated arm that the liquid flux will make a mess and not be consistent. I'm not to
