Not to worry. Just run the boards through the cleaner. It will remove all the solder balls. The gross filter on your washer will collect all the solder balls. Coo eh? ;-) How to cure SM? Is your mask UV, er thermal? After learning the type, you

With poorly cured mask: * Wave soldering: Expect to see thin wavy band of dross imbedded in the mask in the wave solder side. * Reflow soldering: Expect to see a pinto board where the two tones of mask are [1] normal color and [2] a lighter color, al

Dear Park Kyung Sam, your problem can be solved asking to your PCB supplier to cover all the via holes with solder mask before the HAL. Usually this is possible and doesn't produce extra cost. Vincenzo Longobardo vinlong@tin.it

SMT adhesive works great! We actually cut stencils to print adhesive in between areas that always solder short over wave. It's the perfect solder resist. Change a customers board? I thought only Satin could do that?

Occasionally when circuit boards are manufactured, there may be issues with solder mask coverage. It is not uncommon to re-run back through this process to fix missing or thin areas. This can causes the traces to become higher which in turn raises th

We use boots / shunts er wutt ever you call them to protect solderable component surfaces from wave soldering. Not sure how it would work in your case try: * Kinnarney Rubber 450 Main St. P.O.Box 37 Mantua, N.J. 08051 609-468-1320 fax 7438 http://ww

Some questions: Is the peelable/spot masking only being applied to the earthing points on the one side or to both sides? Is the peelable mask you are using specifically designed for coating masking or is it the same as that you use for masking sold

It depends on the carbon polymer that the fabricator printed on your board. It could be: * No wave soldering * Wave soldering with a peelable mask * Wave soldering ... probably one of the latter two. Watch it. Some temporary masks can affect the

It's a typical answer from a board fabricator - 'None of our other customers have these problems'. But, and correct me if I'm wrong, none of the other customers uses the same PCB's as you do! Your preheat-parameters looks OK - they should not be giv

Kurt: Lots of choices, not many of them good, yano. 1 So LPI has taken over the market pretty nearly 100%, but it won't "tent" reliably, because it is not very viscous when applied and drops into the hole. So then, tenting/plugging with LPI is bad
