Several methods work well. 1. (Low Volume Method) Using an Xacto blade, scrape off the solder mask holding the blade flush being careful not to use the pointed part of the blade. 2. (High Volume Method)Tape off the area that you don't want the mas

Hi, I tried to use high temperature solder (540 - 570F)to connect four spacers on the board. The solder mask around the spacers wrinkled a lot.I can even see a few bulbs around it. I use hot plate and solder rings. After hot plate is heated to appr

According to the Trichromatism.Half red and half blue will get purple. But the trichromatism only apply to color light. The red and blue soder mask are coloring material. Both of them absorb light. You mixed them up,so you lose blue and red,and get grap

Hello all, One of our PCB manufacturers coated a through hole connecters vias with solder mask. The only IPC references that comes close to describing this problem is 2.9.2 Registration to holes, and subsequent specification 6.3.1 PTH Vertical fil

Carol You're asking a helluva lot if you heat a PCB to 300C and probably more in such an uncontrolled process. I'm surprised it is not irreparably damaged or, at least, discoloured. I don't think any solder mask is designed for this temperature. W

Did you try Techspray Wondermask W? It is water soluble and can probably be transferred from the bottle to an EFD type syringe for dispensing (we use the P and the PL that way). As far as if it will swell through the reflow, I don't know. We don't us

Dave, Im talking about the 75% vertical fill of solder IPC 6.3 criteria (B), and 6.3.1 Fig 6-5. I also referred to the annular ring of the Plated-Through-Hole, being coated with solder mask. Semantics, yes I did refer to the Plated-Through-Hole (Sup

Hi Carol, does that happen also when you solder them with an iron ? Thats what I did with some joints using hightemp solderwire and couldnt notice anything you mentioned. What Brian and Dave said should be worth considering. good luck Wolfgang

| I am having cleaning problems when processing PCB's which have | TAIYO solder mask on them. After processing, hand soldering and | cleaning, a sticky residue is remains, resulting in a cosmetically poor finish with tide marks etc. Other soldermasks
