Carol You're asking a helluva lot if you heat a PCB to 300C and probably more in such an uncontrolled process. I'm surprised it is not irreparably damaged or, at least, discoloured. I don't think any solder mask is designed for this temperature. W

Aw Dave - you guys are so fashionable, are the dark green and red combos seasonal? caramel brown like a Pale Ale? I once heard that the green was chosen because it gives the best color contrast for white silk screens. As for color reflecting or abs

I'd be surprised if solder mask color is causing your delamination. We use various solder mask colors on FR4 boards and notice no difference. * ~99% of our boards are a medium green * ~1% of our boards are dark green * One of our boards is caramel b

konrad, why did you change your mind now? Now you can agree with PCB manifacturerers? I didn;t hear anything in their defense and you gave up. If colour is not the same each time, that means they don't have standarts or knowledge to control it, an

Emil, Part of the problem it sounded like is that the color was not clearly defined as light or dark in Matte or gloss. Your example of car paint would have the same issue if you just ask them to paint your car green. What color of green would y

| We are in the process of getting into no-clean paste and fluxes. One important issue in this is sodler balling. I have heard some people say that having a matte finish would help in having lesser solder balls and that the solder balls would not b

After analyzing the pictures I don't think the solder balls are caused by the solder mask. If the problem would be solder mask related the solder balls would only show up on the solder mask but there are also solder balls on the plastic tabs. To me i
