Rework using flux pens

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 08 11:28:30 EST 2002 | mregalia

We use NC flux exclusively for SMT and wave soldering. And it is a fairly old formula from Multicore, though we are currently qualifying a new formula. The automated soldering does not appear to be a problem. It is only the hand soldering that causes

Rework using flux pens

My company has been doing its hand soldering using drip bottles for application of no-clean flux. This has created quite a few problems, especially on our microwave boards. I want to convert us over to flux pens. Does anyone have any suggestions or c

Using a flux pen sounds like a good idea. Comments are: * I assume youre talking aqueous flux. If not, some NC flux pens leave white residues. Nearly all of 15 samples suffered to varying degrees with white residues. * Use the same flux that you

Your research is on track. NC flux needs to reach activation temperature. Also, do not depend on the corrosion characteristics associated with the flux classification (ie, L1, L0, M1, M0, etc.), until the flux is activated by exposure to soldering

via masking

There is neither nominal thickness nor is there a set maximum for via masking. We use some of our vias as test pads. So, as youd expect, we get rabid when we get mask bleed onto these pads. IPC-6012 - Qualification & Performance For Rigid Pri

Water soluble solder resist masking

Electronics Forum | Fri Dec 12 10:28:30 EST 1997 | David Syracuse

I am interested in locating a water soluble resist mask that does not leave a residue after wash and is easy to work with during the screen printing process. I have tried the Alpha Metals 110 and 220 solder mask and have found that it does not leave

Question about solder masking BGA vias...

Question about solder masking BGA vias...

Electronics Forum | Sat Sep 18 12:10:19 EDT 2004 | Steve Gregory

I have a question about solder masking via's in a BGA pattern, and want to see if I'm thinking correctly about this. This problem is kind of along the same line as Carol's problem earlier. I think it's a bad idea to leave the via's free from solder

Re: screen printable masking material

Hello Mike You'll have to be a bit more specific. Do you mean permanent solder mask like the normally green material or a temporary mask like the peelable/washable material? John Thorup

Rubber cones used for masking through holes

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 18 12:41:19 EST 2017 | emeto

Does anyone knows where I can buy these rubber cones? They work as masking - preventing the solder to adhere to through holes(rings) while wave soldering
