Tilted/Slant SMT Component Specs?

Electronics Forum | Sun Mar 31 22:50:28 EST 2002 | ianchan

Nope, we do not have solder beads, like we said, what we have are near perfect solder fillets except for the portion where the component is "floating OFF" the pcb pads. We are now mucking through the IPC-A-610C for specifications dictation on "tilted

non-wetting

anyone experience to solve the non-wetting on Microleadframe packages component terminal sides. 1)I test the components solderbility in dip and look test, in solder pot at 240 deg C,the wetting on the sides is ok. but I run on mass production in refl

Water Soluble flux

Came a cross an interseting observation/question. I'll need to filter additional information and specifics to those whom may be able to assist me. But for now; I use a water soluble base organic flux manufactured by Kester (the exact solution will

Black pad on BGA after removal

Electronics Forum | Thu May 05 12:31:27 EDT 2005 | russ

Not in this case, these BGAs were lead free and the profile used was for a lead part. I guess I will give you the whole story. These boards were sent to us from a customer to have the BGAs replaced for an unknown to us reason. We removed the parts

Solder wetting issues

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 01 14:24:25 EST 2005 | Amol Kane

Hi, I am having a SAC 305 solder paste with water soluble flux wetting issue. during reflow, the solder melts, but doesnt flow. the reflow profile was developed by the solder company person (Kester). the board is a test assembly to validate our LF pr

Barrel fill with Pb Free Wave Solder

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 10 09:29:59 EST 2008 | rgduval

Oops...just noticed you were referring to wave soldering. We'd still suggest a water-soluble flux, instead of the no-clean; especially at wave soldering. Also, checking pre-heat temps, and dwell time on the pot. Is the wave a chipper wave? If not

non-wetting

*yes, I used water soluble solder paste (OMG-WS-300), the flux type is ORM0. The component terminations are bare copper, and theyre supposed to be that way. The supplier of these parts is MAXIM, produced from Philipine, get from customer. * We can no

choices for SN100C for reflow

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 19 16:38:39 EST 2012 | dyoungquist

We are not using SN100C in our reflow process but I know the type of flux made a big difference with our SAC305 solder. We started out using no-clean flux in our SAC305 paste and were having some issues. We then switched over to a water soluble flu

Re: Cleaning No-Clean

Steve: I thought Kyzen products were "additives" to either aqueous or semiaqueous inline or batch machine cleaning processes. I'm trying to clean the no-clean residue from a few components that can not bear to see water. Can you use Kyzen products

Reflow with lead-free 96.5 /3/0.5 No-Clean T4 brown-orange burn color on parts

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 26 17:13:43 EST 2019 | rgduval

Doesn't really look like no-clean to me...typically, no-clean encapsulates the solder joint after reflow, trapping any organics. This looks like plain-old water soluble flux, that cooked a bit too much in reflow. As you noted, it cleaned up with
