Lifted pads are almost always caused by pad to substrate adhesion likely degraded significantly after too much heat. Poorly trained operators armed with soldering irons can do this expertly.

Just how cold do you store your paste? And what are your solder paste reps like? Here they fall over each other giving support for their paste. And have you seen the problem with flux separation or have you only heard about it?

We've used mostly cartridges for many years and I only saw separation once when a particular paste supplier had a problem. With cartridges it's just thaw and use - no mixing. We have some sites that use jars along with mixers and I've never been co

My group supports a couple hundred lines all over the world. Most of them use squeegees but a few use either the MPM Rheometric pump heads or the DEK Proflow heads. I absolutely hate the enclosed heads. Flux separation, compaction, and the print q

Bryan, Dyoungquist is correct. You should not need to mix solder paste. Overmixing solder paste can adversely affect it. Follow these guidelines and you should be fine: 1. Keep unopened containers of paste in the refrigerator. 2. Take one container

A number of years ago I used a Kester product called Solder Saver. It is a thick liquid that one squirts onto the dross on a hot solder pot. It separates out the solder leaving a crust of almost clean dross. Unfortunately a mask is still required. Th

I was able to escape from Riyadh last week to attend APEX. PK Metals actually had a booth where they did a live demo. They had a working solder pot with dual wave, and demonstrated how their material acts as a barrier to oxidation, which causes dro

Good morning, In this case separation speed doesnt affect print quality. Separation speed decrease makes print quality the same or worse. Apertures still remain blocked. Any ideas? Thanks. BR, Pavel
