Re: Fine Pitch Components

Nick: I got two choices for ya: 1 Call your supplier, have 'em send ya an outline drawing, and read the pitch from the drawing. 2 Buy a vernier caliper and measure the center to center spacing of the leads. Good luck

placement is only ok?, what size chip is this? Is the pad spacing correct? Are the apertures on your stencil reduced or 1:1. Stencil thickness? Do the problem areas heat up evenly? special plating on terminals of cap? Need more info.

0402 components

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 24 11:02:29 EST 2000 | mark scheunemann

I am looking to discuss 0402 issues, specifically tombstoning/unsoldered. Any recommendations on pad size/spacing, stencil design etc would be helpful. Placement and reflow profile look good.

Component staking

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 06 13:19:31 EDT 2000 | ZAKIR AHMAD

Our company do electronic packaging for space applications. One of the problems we face during our design is whether or not to stake/bond the surface mount components to the board to survive the vibration qualification environment. If we do staking

Conformal Coating Immersable in Water

Electronics Forum | Wed May 16 11:34:55 EDT 2001 | b123084

I am looking for a conformal coating to protect a PWB that will be completely submerged in water. Unfortunately polyurethane will not work because it will not fill all of the small spaces and leaves voids.

Oven Throughput

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 19 23:52:17 EDT 2001 | Victor

Load Factor = Board Length / (Board Length + Space) (you can get the maximum loading factor from the manufacturer, usually ranges from 0.5 to 0.9) Oven Throughput = (Conveyor Speed x Load Factor) / Length per Board

Re: stand-up axial resistors

It is also possible to use standoffs to provide the board spacing. There are permanent types and washaway types. This eliminates the need for special prepping of components. The operator slides the bead over the lead prior to installation. I have

Low capacity PCB manufacturing equipment

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 23 04:29:38 EDT 1999 | MK

Can anybody recommend low capacity PCB manufacturing equipment for labaratory or research/designers center. Output 2-10 sqr. m. per shift; required working space 30-100 sqr. m. Spent too much time looking fr this. Thanks in advance.

Re: 1 mil or 25 um trace width

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 29 09:37:12 EDT 1999 | Dave F

| Can anyone in this world produce such small PCB/PWB trace widths? Lots of theory so far, but have not found anyone yet who can do it in practice. | Daniel: 2 mil lines with 3 mil spaces are pretty technical. Good luck. Dave F
