Evalution on solder paste and spray flux

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 27 11:23:45 EST 2005 | russ

Well first off I wouldn't evaluate paste for a wave process. I would use solder bar instead. Flux - top side fillets and no shorting on the solder side, does it clean well after processing if using water soluble flux. How wide is the process win

Indium Corp. has some, 3549-HF and 3590-T, both are OK for foaming. Most of the better performing newer fluxes require spray application for best performance. Alpha, Kester and others have wave fluxes too. http://www.indium.com/products/circuitboar

Advices on selecting spray fluxer: reciprocating vs. fixed head

Are you talking about wave soldering process? Are you talking about foam fluxer against spray fluxer? I think that almost all new machines are using spray fluxer that moves back and forth. If that is not the question, please specify.

Spray fluxer vs.Foam fluxer

I need to find out the benefits about having a spray fluxer.Right now we are using a foam fluxer on our electrovert wavesolder. We are thinking about investing in a spray fluxer and I want to know if anyone has used a spray fluxer and if any problems

Look at your fluxer as well (spray or foam?). You may not be getting ample flux over certain areas of the board. This can cause voids.

Spray fluxer conversion

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 08 08:47:57 EST 2018 | andras

Hi, We are currently using Alfa EF-2210, that is a good water based flux for spraying, but can't be used with foam fluxer (it is pain to use with foaming - builds extensive foam) BR:andras
