We are looking for some basic mechanical parts to advance parts in the Tape & Reel Carrier Tape using a stepmotor. The Carrier Tape we use is as per the EIA Standards and I imagine there are dozens of companies that make a sprocket gear to handle t

Hi, I need a new sprocket wheel with larger pins. I have the Lavezzi 4mmm pitch but my carrier tape skip holes. Do anyone know a place where to find this types of sprockets? How do I look for them. I don't want chain type. Thanks.

I had a similar problem once. It turned out to be sprocket bearings. The sprocket was so hard to turn, the chain would stop a couple times per shift.

I believe the drive of the conveyor whether rail or belt is the same so the sprocket choice in the software would effect belt or rail conveyor speed. I would make sure the number of teeth match the sprocket selection in the software.

The spring tension will definitely cause what you were describing. Take a look at the friction plates between the sprockets. If they get real shiny from wear it can cause them to overshoot when the sprocket advances.

The standard you need is EIA-481B. It details the taping of components from 8mm tape up to 200mm tape including component orientations. 8, 12, 16 and 24mm tape has the sprocket holes only on one side so it is easy to determine the proper orientatio

We still have an old Heller 1500W kicking around and I can't locate a parts list or manual. I know some "spring cleaning" went on and I'm wondering if someone tossed them. The main issue is the edge rail chains seem to suddenly have a lot of slack.
