We are wave soldering a board having 24 similar thru hole connectors on it, using a wave soldering pallet. The problem is that one particular pin of connector in around 6-9 connectors get excess solder on the bottom side. I have tried all the parame

Bob Willis and Phil Zarrow have had a running commentary on the ability of reflowed solder to hold components on the bottom side during reflow. You can find references to their component weight to pad area rations in the fine SMTnet Archives. The

We run a TP9 machine and had a very similar problem with it. On a TP9 machine there is a power supply board where all the voltages are generated. It is located on the bottom side of the unit. The problen was with one of the fuse holders. The co

Hi, I think what you are describing is a half-etch QFN, which causes the 3 mil gap. In our process, we don't require solder to bridge this gap as it's internally connected to the bottom lead. I'm not sure if this is the question you're asking, but

Good Morning! I need some clarification. Our company is working with a start up company on some prototypes. On the bottom of the assembly they are placing a SOT23-5 component. It is being presented to the wave so the lead banks are parallel to the
