Our solder ball problem is linked to moisture. If the paste sits on the board too long (especially during our humid summer months) we experience the problem. As far as the problem being specific to components or areas of the board, maybe some of th

We currently use Epibond 7275 with MPM printers. Unfortunately we've had problems with Vantico (formerly Ciba) providing a consistent product. Last summer we had extreme difficulty printing due to excessively high adhesive viscosity (20% higher tha

We used to use Alpha paste. Every summer we had solder ball problems when the humidity rose. Time frame sounds like this is something to check in to.

Hi laxman, Only to answer one of your question, actually almost 50% of component we use switch to lead free alloys. We receive confirmation for transition to lead free of at least 10 components per day. So, Yes I think all component will be ready

Hi all, we will be moving our pcb production to a different (newer) part of the plant this summer in an effort to reduce dust and better control the temp/humidity. What can I install to keep the dust down? Are there air exchangers/filters for a room

We have seen this exact same problem. Our vendor agreed it was their problem and also agreed it was a moisture issue within the PCB layers, not the solder mask. We have taken to baking our boards, especially when they are manufactured during the late

Most important factor - temperature. Back in the days I worked for a place without AC, and summer time this paste couldn't make it for more than an hour. In controlled environment you will be safe for hours or even a shift.

Yeah, I can't imagine our AC having nearly enough head room to handle that additional heat load in the summer.
