2MM pitch tape

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 08 14:18:34 EST 2003 | soupatech

I have run across a resistor array whose tape has a 2mm pitch. Is there a way to modify a Fuji CP3 8x4 feeder to make it 8x2? Or do I need to purchace new feeders?

I found a feeder with a 2mm pitch and was told that although it was made for the CP4, it would work with the CP3. Before we throw out a thousand bucks, has anyone had experience loading parts off of a 2mm pitch tape with the CP3? The part is a 1.6

Hi, CP3 will have trouble placing 0603 parts - I wouldn`t use a CP3 for these parts - A CP4 will be more suitable. A older CP4 feeder will fit and function on a CP3.

EIA-481 standard allows the maximum pitch on tape to be 4mm less than the tape width (12mm width and larger). So it is within the standard allowances. As for how common 20mm pitch on 24mm tape is I can not say. I am surprised a 24mm tape feeder ca

Any tape--any pitch. On our C5 platform every part number (in your database) has a package type assigned to it. The package type contains the information about the pitch and component orientation. When you load the feeder you scan the part number-

Has anyone ever ran into a 20mm pitch on a 24mm tape and reel. Our software doesnt have a setting for 20mm. we found a way around it, but i was curious as to how common this pitch is, and if other software or feeders have a 20mm setting.

I have done this before, We print with a 5-6mil stencil and have had no problems with any underneath solder. If you are still nervous instead of removing from stencil use some 3 mil kapton tape or equivelant and tape off the BGA pads. This way the

Thanks for the clarification! So in generic settings what are the normally the components with the smallest pitch? Will a machine with 20 mil capability handle almost anything? | | I was wondering what measurements are used to define pitch? | | |
