Thanks Robl. I’ve contacted samtec followed their advice but ended up empty handed. Originally my stencil thickness is 6 mils, samtec stressed the need for the paste and charge to have good contact but this is challenged by the inherent charge non-co

I've seen this warp issue across several different PCB's we assemble. One of the biggest head ache's is getting the boards to transfer between machines, converyors, and inside our pick and place. Due to the warpage, transport between conveyors is dif

Yes, but even high force probes are not a cure-all. You still get flux build-up over time which can cause contact issues. The best way is to use a low residue flux in the wave to minimize what's left on the pcb post-wave.

Stop the lines...! Stop building defects and rework into your product. Contact Fab Supplier and have pipeline filled for small amount of replacement fabs to keep lines running and limiting production scheduling and impact. Request to have the board

Hello, I am having a problem with HASL PCB's after it comes back from the stuffer. To me it looks like oxidation and it causes poor wetting. This leads to a bunch of problems all of which have different symptoms but the cause is this oxidation proble

I'll try to deal with the issues as you've presented them. 1. Blistering/delamination, shown in photo 2. The most likely cause of blistering/delamination like this is moisture in the boards. The moisture can get into the boards in multiple ways..

Dennis: Several points: 1 If you're talking AlphaLevel process (?): Good solderability, as HASL, even no-cleans bite well. Planarity, uniform deposit, no bridgin of FP. Doesn't store as well as NiAu ... LT 6 months sealed Very sensitive t

I have been advised recently about pcb manufacturers, that somehow or other supply pcb's with contamination. Visually they are fine, but problems arise during SMT manufacture, ie solder balling, non-wetting on pads, and also during wave solder proces

Step stencils are used but only when necessary. One reason to use one would be a PCB with 12 mil pitch and very large coils or something of that nature. The 12 mil pitch part would require a 4 mil thick stencil to ensure release while it would caus

We do a lot of these devices and I guess I am not familiar the term "Dry Solder". The QFN device is not designed to have a drain hole, but needs to have thermal vias to control heat in most cases. We have used every possible gnd pad design and modifi
