Hi everyone, Our QC manager is bugging me about calibrating the TC readings on our reflow ovens. I keep telling him that doing a regular reflow profiling with a mole is sufficient to see if the oven temperature are normal. The manuals state that TC c

Does this device have a integral heat sink / metal slug on top, like a TI TM320C6XXX er a Altera EP20K4XX? Compare the size of the pads on the interposer and the board. Compare the type solder mask [NSMD vs SMD] on the interposer and the board. Wh

Okay here's what happened. We've got a "bonepile" of old obsolet profile boards with thermocouples attached. I asked the production Supervisor, could he have one of his people DE-SOLDER the T/C's, put them in a bag, and give them to me. So, what h

I measured the diference soldering the TC to the pad and just tape down it, because i had a trouble with accuracy of some TC's. For the TC's I just taped down, I used additional heat-conductive paste to make a a termal connection from the TC to the s

How are you attaching your thermocouples? When using HT solder, the solder/TC surface of the joint can be reflective. This condition coupled with the IR can give you false temperature data since some of the heat is reflected away from the TC. Le

Check your "over temperature module" for both top and bottom zones when the alarm is active, there is a bank of LED's on the bottom of this module. Monitor it to find out if the same zone keeps activating the alarm, if so check your TC for that zone.

Carl, You can use a high temp solder to connect your T/C's but we use Kapton or glass tape so the T/C's can be reused. Mac

AVCOM, I have worked on a few of the Conceptronic ovens recently for one of my clients. They had a similar issue, all the heaters dropping out with a high temp circuit error which kicks out CON1 (Heater power). If you're saying what I think your sa

Hi I have question about thermocouple type use for Super M.O.L.E. I found in some article that type K T/C (Nickel-Chromium vs. Nickel-Aluminum) may suffer from temperature cycling hysteresis at above 250 degree C and also diffecult to solder. Now

Dave, Can you provide info. on some T/C manufacturers willing to perform repair services? Thanks.
