Re: CPk using glass slugs?

| Read an earlier thread about using glass slugs to determine placement CPk. Can it actually be done this way? What's the procedure? Be interesting to know 'cause if it's feasible, I'd probably get myself a kit. None of us here are stat's experts

Plugging of via through holes

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 23 03:04:57 EDT 2008 | gfro

Hello, We are using a PCB with thickness 3.2mm 4 layer and lot of through hole via's of diameter 0.4mm. We specified our PCB vendor to do plugging. Now we have big problems, that after 1..4 weeks we measure a low resistance between track's/via's of

Q1. Is this a standard process for plugging? A1. Not as such. We checked both IPC-6012 and IPC-SM-840. Neither comments on plugging. So, your fabrication notes rule the day. Q2. Is this okay for such thick PCB's or is it mandatory to use a special pl

BGA via in pad

I have a customer that designed a fine pitch BGA into a board, and has put small vias in the middle of each pad on the PCB. Anyone have any ideas on how I can prevent the solder from the BGA from flowing through the vias and causing voids or no cont

What would happen if a 2 volt solar cell was hooked through a diode into to a 3.6 volt nicad (3xAA)? would it charge it at all? just a bit but never fully? would battery deliver 3.6 volt after charging? If left long enough would it charge fully?

via in smt pad

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 26 17:12:17 EST 2004 | ben

I have recently encountered a new pcb design with a very high density of components on either side of the pcb. One of the suggested "fixes" is to use the smt pads as vias i.e. the via will be drilled thorough the centre of the smt pad. My concern i

First, I dont understand why your board fabricator cant do a good job plugging your vias. Additionally, when you consider that they forgot to plug the first batch of boards, it makes me wonder if they are desirable as a supplier. Generally, we us
