Lead-free solder

What do you mean the solder must "survive" 260C? What is your target temperature? Is it dictated by a component, the substrate or the solder alloy? Do you require a eutectic alloy? If not, the selection of alloys grows. (these are from memory...n

You're right, but my neighbor borrowed my X-ray fluoroscope XRF and never brought it back! Actually, I just read the spec sheet which told me it was tin/silver leads.

Downhole solder suggestions, in order of preference are: * Kester Sn96.3Ag3.7. Most vendors do not stock straight tin-silver alloys, whose wallet is that fat? * SAC305 can usually be used in place of one of the copper-free tin-silver alloys in downho

Lead-free solder

Hi everyone! I am looking for a lead-free solder that will survive a customer reflow of 260C. I am currently using SN10/Pb88/Ag02 but the reflow temperature is to high (320C) for the FR4 boards that we have. I know there are higher temp FR4 boards

99C solder

We've never used the 99*C lead-free solder you mention. We have used a leaded solder that can form a 93*C eutectic solder. So, we had to be sure the service temperature [of the solder connections] as below 80*C.

How effective will current wave solder equipment and processes be with lead free solder? What temperatures will be required? How will dross generation compare?
