Maintenance, solder type, and tinning flux chemistries are going to have an impact on nozzle life. Doing regular maintenance and using a good quality nozzle you should expect your nozzles to last 6-8 weeks when running a single shift operation. Keep

I have found Superior No. 75 to be an absolute miracle worker when it comes to nozzle maintenance. I let our worst nozzles soak in that over the weekend and then the majority of the dross would literally flake off with light pressure from a pick/scre

Hi Steve, I think MIL-P-81728A, MIL-F-14256 and Fed std QQ-S-571/624 talks about it, but it has been superseded by J-STD-006. Hope it helps. Regards Kc.

Rob: Someone's out there turning over stones, eh? Roller Tinning, Rolled Solder. In printed circuit fabrication, a surface coating of tin-lead, typically 1-2 microns thick, applied to preserve solderability. Still available from some fabricators

I know it's a tin residue because we have a Cheme in house who had a spectrum analysis performed in an outside lab. The waves parameters were out of control long enough to effect a number of units that are, well can I say substaincial in a fiscal s

Russells: You can mix the two solders you mentioned, assuming by "96s" you meant "96Sn / 4Pb". If you heat the two tin / lead alloys to a liquid state, youll form a tin / lead solution with properties different from either of the two solders. The

We recently had a multi block panal change at the vendor Now the production lines are producing solderability defects in great number. The makeup of the pcb is a type of fiber glass mask green in color and pads with no tinning just copper lands.

It seems that sceening at -20C and using a vibration profile similar to the one you mentioned does a good job of high-lighting defective solder connections on assembled boards, but not affecting good connections. Why is this happening? In there a
