| | I have boards coated with Humiseal 1B73. At a late point mfg. site we need to remove a series of 0603 resistors for optioning purposes. I have been trying to determine the fastest, easiest way to re-coat the pads after removal. Drying time of the

| | We have experienced poor adhesion of acrylic conformal coating to plastic bodied ICs. The observed symptoms of this are a blistering or lifting of the coating at the surface of the component, although peel testing has revealed that this is not

I'll third the motion for hand dipping the boards. One other idea is to get coating in a can. Many companies will supply coatings in aerosol cans for touch up and small usage.

What type of brush for hand conformal coating?

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 02 14:54:52 EST 2009 | jdumont

Hi all, just wondering what type of brushes you all are using to manually touch up/apply your conformal coatings? We use an solvent based acrylic and do minor touch ups as they are processed. Occasionally we will have a bristle or two come off the

We spray with an Asymtek C-740 system. However, some very small PCBs we do by hand and we also touch up after a PCB has to be repaired.

Conformal coat material dispensed through epoxy needle?

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 31 13:41:41 EST 2017 | tombstonesmt

Dow Corning 3-1953 is widely used when it comes to silicone based conformal coatings. Low odor, medium viscosity, can be atomized or needle dispensed. We have our operators fill syringe cartridges for any minor touch up.

Conformal Coating Equipment - Where to Start?

Asymtek in-line machine with the Jet head hands-down. And since you will be coating silicone you should virtually have no touch-up after it exits the machine because of the higher viscosity of this material.

FOD

Can anyone share some good practices to reduce FOD in the conformal coat area? I am new and trying to get my hands around a serious FOD issue. We get red, black, blue, and white fibers that gets trapped in our conformal coat, causing a lot of scopi

Hi I work for Asymtek, so you know my affiliation up front. I just want to mention that Asymtek makes conformal coatings sytems from Bench tops to full auto in- line systems. We have applications labs in the USA and around the world to help companie

I'm working on bringing up a new conformal coat process/workcenter and have a few questions I'm hoping someone might have experience with. Right now we're manually spraying both coating materials (1B31 and 1A33 from Humiseal) using HVLP guns. I run
