QFP Removal

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 16 15:47:54 EST 2004 | Jim

I have about 200 PCB's from which a 20mil pitch QFP must be removed, cleaned and re-used (will place them back in trays for the P&P machine to place the parts on new boards). My intitial concern is: how can we remove the parts in an efficient manner?

I am interested in getting feedback from anyone who has or is reeling different parts on the same reel for pick and place. Our department is extremely high mix, extremely low volume. I am also very new to surface mount, and any experience with this

I would highly recommend Assembleon OpalXII/TopazXII for your low volume high mix applications. You could perform changeovers very quickly. Of course it depends on how many feeders are required per product. If you buy for example, 2 OpalXII machines

One for discussion I think. There appears to be limited options when it comes to the control of moisture sensitive devices through the assembly process, the options being a paperwork based system or the use of RF tracking software. We have some ideas

Contact's new C5 platform is an excellent machine. I found that it is superior in value due to several points. 1. one machine capable of 192 8mm feeders. 2. Feeders that are capable of being adjusted from one size to another with little effort. R

Grant, By flex machine I simply mean a machine that can place the entire range of SMT components. I don't consider the majority of Japanese machines to be truly flex machines because they are always presented as two machine solutions. The first mac

We seem to have an accountability issue when it comes to operators building defective product. Currently we are putting a piece of masking tape with the assembly #, work order, and operator initials on our black trays at the end of the reflow oven. I
