If you are beginning a new evaluation of fluxes, make sure you consider an ultrasonic spray fluxing system with recipricating head. A fluxer from Ultrasonic Systems can add valuable data to your wave solder process

Re: item 3 - there are ultrasonic thickness machines (Panametrics makes one) that can measure coating dry with a small transducer head. A little pricey for ones that measure reliably in the .003" +/- .002" range.

Thanx for all your recomendations, we already ask for a 3D SPI and help us well, we are asking for a ultrasonic stencil cleaner. By the way how do you deal with the 'head in pillow' defects? is there a solder paste alloy / profile issue?

We recently rebuilt the generator and power supply on our '97 vintage Optiflux Ultrasonic fluxer. That cleared up all its issues except. Ultrasonics are reported by all indicators to be running in both Setup and Run mode, however, the nice rooster-t

Don, I have used both fixed and reciprocating head fluxers. In my experience I prefer the fixed head over the reciprocating. I actually found that the coverage was more uniform than a reciprocating. However, the fixed head on the Sono-Tek does req

Folks, What's the latest on stencil cleaning technologies; particlarly 'spray' (whether air or emmersion )versus 'ultrasonic' ?? What are your experiences with this ?? Has anyone completing any testing on cleaners recently - that you'd be willin

Hi Tim (Nopper?), You should not have a cloud of flux comming out of your machine. Is your fluxer a resiprocating fluxer? Is it an ultrasonic spray head? I don't have your contact info any longer due to my laptop meeting my hammer. Send me a p

Fixed spray head performance depends on board width. If you are looking for complete top-side hole fill, the flux penetration into the lead-hole will be more in the center and less on the ends because of the fan pattern spray. For board widths over 6

Mike, We retrofitted all of our waves with USI spray fluxers. We are running no-clean on 4 of our waves, and OA 2331-ZX, reduced specific gravity to .825, on the other 2 With OA you must buy a special spray head to accomadate higher pressure and l

| Does anyone have any recommendations on spray fluxers? Are there major differences between the high priced ultrasonic machines to the low priced flux/air spraying machines? We are going to be spraying an OA flux with 11% solids content. Are there a
