UP2000 with grid-lok question

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 23 17:32:53 EST 2007 | russ

if you cannot spend any money I would say that you either need to add rails or try to increase the squeegee pressure to hold down the stencil while it prints those close pads. But...... Can you put PCB onto some type of carrier that would move thes

MPM Accela

We have had our first MPM accela since 2007 and up to this moment, the machine never had a major breakdown. We have this machine running 24/7 on our high volume line supplying a 14 module M6S NXT machine. It can handle a beyond specs warp boards and

We are big mpm fans especially the UP2000/2500 dos based. I just got an MPM SP2000 but feel thats too big. I would like something even smaller for an office setup. I looked up the MV100 and it came up with a pic of Quad. It looked pretty big in p

Stencil design

For height, I start +-2mil usually. For 3mil stencils, my lower limit starts at 1.5mil, upper is 5. If the area is chem ethed, I normally add .5 to the stencil height. My default volume is 60 - 160%. Then print specs are adjusted till I see fit, then

Problems with frameless stencils on MPM??

Maybe you stencil height measurement is being affected. Check your tactile sensor, it may be sticking due to paste or adhesive getting on it.

Poor Paste Release

Squeegee pressure or height, snap off, the age and/or condition of the paste and the condition/cleanliness of the stencil are about all I can come up with, unless you got a new stencil and you changed the design parameters or they made it wrong.

could be a printer or stencil issue. try to check your printing repeatability. Suggest to use SPI for a checking paste volume/height/area.A regular stencil cleaning may reduced your headache.

Stencil Bleed - Bridges and Solder Balls

First, this is the result of bad printer setup. Adjust knife pressure, PCB gap, separation speed, tooling, and stencil cleaning. Pay attention to the coating of contacts pad and height of solder mask of PCB.

Solder Paste and fine pitch components

My suggestion is to conduct a Design For Manufacturing (DFM)study on the assembly in question. Pay particular attention to the pad sizes, component lead dimensions and satisfy yourself that those two factors are correct. Given that pads match compone

Thinking about this auto-mode on Grid-Lok..... Ok, the board is warped, lets say positively, the pins conform to the warped board... what about the effect on top side and squeegee pressure? It will be much higher and could damage stencils, right? Pos
