We use our MIRTEC to inspect Thru hole axial components after they've come off of the Universal VCD machine. I just add them to the centroid data in Circuitcam and the operators program the images like any other part.

Is this across different assemblies or components? HAS the machine been calibrated lately? Are you using an adjustable fixture or dedicated tooling plate? Is it a rotating table and are you using it? Was program generated with CAD data or self taught

I don't know if it is "Standard Practice" necessarily, but it certainly can be useful. We don't do this regularly, but we do have a few projects with multiple versions where certain parts are only populated on one version but not others. So it help
