Watch the air pressure gauge and make sure you have a good steady air pressure. I don't know about the Rad 5 but the Rad 3 was sensitive to fluctuations in air pressure. By any chance do you have a VCD running nearby when you are having the problems?

Something on the 5v side is pulling it down. I would check every thing associated with the harness you are disconnecting. Your shorting somewhere! Don't have a schematic in front of me. Also look for leads getting into the backside of your connecto

There are pots on the board in the power supply to adjust the voltages after the machine is powered up. The location of these pots are in the munual supplied with the machine
