PCB Storage and FIFO

Put the new stuff in the back and pull from the front. A pass through from stores makes that a lot easier. Bar codes are a wonderful thing if you can get people to use them. Wand it into stores then wand it sequentially into production via a queue.

Sure you can use it it with leaded HASL. Recognize that ... * Your Sn42/Bi58 will no linger be Sn42/Bi58 * Your leaded HASL will no longer be the same leaded HASL that walked in the door to your plant * Lead from HASL coatings can diffuse through the

safety?

I'd love for safety to be number one around here. I cringe a lot as I walk through our facility, I'm shocked by the things people do without the proper safety equipment. I always go and grab the equipment and bring it to the employee and explain, for

Scored Printed Circuit Boards

I read your request for design information on panel layout for V-scoring, and felt the need to respond. Scored PWB's are indeed more efficient to produce and depanel than tab routed PWB's, but there are also drawbacks associated with this method. T

Cracked SMT Capacitors

I Agree with Dave, Check spec on cap some devices have temp constraints (can exceed x degrees for more than x time or can not exceed a certain ramp rate). Check that then go through the rest of the process chances are its not your machine if no other

PCB Depanelizers

We don't use fussy things like that to remove mouse-bite tabs when they are not designed to be removed. Just cut away the majority of the waste using sheet metal shears. Then burr the remainder and the rough parts with a Sears wood router [bought a

Capacitor Shorts after Depaneling

Steve, We have had the same problem at my company and unfortunately I do not have any good news for you. We are using a pizza slicer type depanalizer from FKN and if the MLCC caps are layed out too close to the edge they still break. We had to add th

Trace Distance to Board Edge

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 30 11:08:23 EDT 2007 | swag

I have a new contract with boards that have straight edges and are good for v-score breakout panel design. However, many of the traces are very close to the edge of the board so I am concerned that the traces could be damaged when we run them throug

Hey Patrick, have you heard the latest on Al Gore? How typical and this doesn't include all the times Gore flies on private jets adding even more CO2 to the atmosphere. Can anyone say HYPOCRITE. "Al Gores Personal Energy Use Is His Own "Incon

| | | | | We're running into problems with board damage (broken traces, solder shorts) due to pliers and other bizarre tools being used for depanelization. I need some sort of fixture for this. A delrin plate with a slot cut to the correct depth and
