Hello, this is my first post in this forum, but sometimes I visit it to get some news. Now we have an issue and I need your advice. Few months ago we were awarded with a project that use PTH components. We solder these components on Wave soldering

There are several things that can be done. Shortening the lead length should eliminate bridging between lead. We had done a project several years ago where the customer had shortened the leads to almost flush to the board, preventing any chance of

If the package is robust enough to handle surface mount followed by a pass through the wave soldering process, we have had excellent results populating the fine pitch parts with the P&P machine, reflow, then mask the solder joints prior to wave solde

Most companies are double sided paste and reflow, then selective soldering the thru-hole. This will give you the best results and with much more consistency than with Wave Soldering.

| We are changing from through-hole to SMT, wondering what pitch requirements would an 8 pin SOAC require for pick and place? We think that this would be our finest pitch part. | John: Never heard of an "SOAC." SO packages are 50 ptch (50 mil, 1

Thanks a lot,, so assuming we are using standard parts, with nothing out of the ordinary we could safely assume that a machine capable of 20 mil would be more than able to meet our needs down the road. | We are changing from through-hole to SMT, won
