I am new to wave soldering. Any information is greatly welcomed. Here is the problem. After soldering the boards they have a film on the bottom of them and sometimes a white powder looking substance. I have tried decreasing the amount of flux on

Hey all! The wave solder warrior is back. I have found a flux which leave almost no residue (the least yet), but because of its super low solids content I absolutely cannot get topside fillets. The multi-layer, two sided board is on a pallet w

Dr. Lee, For lead-free wave soldering, we are recommended to use SnCu0.7, why not 0.8 or more ?? Since SnCu0.7 has eutectic melting point at 227 deg C, does it mean with more Cu or less Cu, the melting point will be higher ?? Also, in lead solderin

If you failed math like I did. A 0.005 inch stencil would work fine for those parts. Most stencils are 0.004in for fine pitch 1005s 201s. 0.005in is probably the most common generic stencil. 0.006in generally is if you need extra solder for big parts

= 0.66 aperture opening to the stencil wall has been shown to provide the best transfer efficiency and repeatability of the deposited paste. Values from 0.66 to 0.8 insure a good paste release from the stencil. The biggest impact on area ratio is the

We currently screen print glue for our bottom side components. We are looking to get the bottom side of one our boards screened with a solder resist (to cover mounting holes, etc, for the wave-soldering process). This would create an uneven surface

We currently use the Loctite system of Glue/stencils and are getting very good results. You may still have a height problem is you solder resist is too thick. The UK sales person is Bob.goss@loctite-europe.com & he may give you more help. The only ot

Clint, You may want to call KJ Marketing Services, a Canadian company that fabricates plastic laser cut stencil. They call it "Kepoch stencil" This material was originally developed by Dupont, and patented and marketed by KJ. It was available for

Simple differences. Both processes require a very similar machine platform, controlled motion, vision fiducial recognition and alignment of a substrate (PCB or hybrid ceramic) to the "image", the image being either a stencil (hence stencil printing)
