That's just dross. If you have nitrogen blowing over the wave, you could reduce its flow as it tends to blow the dust everywhere if it is set too high. (on the other hand it might reduce solder quality)

I belive I once saw a picture of a Delta-T. It was in a very old Popular Science magazine. Some yahoo from Ohio wanted to put wings on his ol' tin lizzy. He also had some elaborate plans to convert his flat head V-8 to run off corn likker. I say chuc

2 more statement that need consideration in the logic: 3. heating up solid solder consumes more energy than heating up molten solder. 4. keeping solid solder at a constant temperature consumes less energy then molten solder. Result: We keep our pot

I agree with RealChunks. The application of any of these "wave solder process control tools" is dependant on how the shop is run. At some shops, PM is inconsistent and slacked off on. At other shops, there is no technical expertise at the operator

Hi Andrzej, I guess you mean peelable solder resist. Good idea to try during R&D, but certainly not a solution on production floor. Also, few constraints to be considered such as presence of entrapped air between component and solder resist, the natu

Blowholes during wave soldering

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 28 23:47:12 EDT 2007 | crashoveride

Blows holes are usually caused by improper amount of flux applied to the boards prior to WAVE process and, in some circumstances, can be related to the preheater settings.

the temperature difference between solder and room temperature, So if you let the solder cool down, you need less energy then holding it on temperature + heating a bit up. 2. If you let the solder get to solid, you don't have oxidation. 3. If you l

Spray fluxing yes but have checked the uniformity by using a fluxometer. Also have put boards through with only flux and preheat. no wave up to see if the carrier is being burnt off. I will look into the skip plating issue. Thanks again

Nitrogen supply for new solder wave spray fluxer.

The onsite generator drops approx. 30psi from the input. We feed ours 110psi and end up around 80psi in the tank, which we regulate to 65psi for the machines.

For fun ask the sales guy where they came up with that number. Or even the reasoning for using nitrogen. Don't expect quality answers.
