I have a goal to reduce the weight of about 20 test fixtures to go below 35 lbs. Most of the current fixture weights exceed 40 lbs. Does anyone have any suggestions on a lifting device or a method to reduce the weight of the fixtures?

Some guys used to hang weight on the spent tape with a binder clip to help pull the tape through. Not ideal of course, but may help in a pinch...if you try it, you'll have to move the weight(s) up every so often.

I've used plenty of weights in the wave solder process, but not in the SMT reflow process. Ask yourself some why's.... such as why is the part lifting at one end? (board bowing possibly), why? Not the correct tg material or issue with oven profile? W

Joseph, In addition to my previous post The reason why the cracks are most visible at the transformer location is due to the weight of the transformer. The stress on the boards is the highest because the weight of the transformer will warp the board
