Is "Lead Free" solder wick really any different than regular solder wick? It's only copper infused with flux so I don't see what the difference would be. I see in the catalogs that the LF wick costs more than the regular wick. Do I need to use LF

Hi, Does anyone has experiences in reflowing Ceramic BGA and found solder wicking ? Solder wicking has the syndrome that solder being wick from the pad and ended up in the leads. We have rule out the possibility of not printing any solder paste there

Brad; I think the only difference is the color of the packaging that it comes in. We use the same type solder wick on both lead and lead free solder with no problems. We just paint or color the packaging green for the lead free solder wick to keep t

Steve; This is true if you want to use the solder wick that comes with the flux in it. We use no flux added solder wick. We use our normal flux then when we remove solder.

While we're unfamiliar with Swisstone, we accept: * Techspray Solder-Wik * Chemtronics Soder-Wick * NTE Solder Wick All of these [and Swisstone] look basically the same. We wonder if maybe they're all made by the same source and branded differently
