World Class First Time Yield

Electronics Forum | Sat Dec 27 01:32:42 EST 2003 | Ian Chan

IMHO, depending on whether its a regular run model, or a properly designed/setup pilot run model, getting a mean 75%-95% First Pass Yield (FPY%) is possible as a benchmark target. This is derived from your manufacturing history capabilities, and requ

...reasonable benchmark. 30 to 100DPMO is considered world class. All else? Well lets just call it "not-so-world-class". :) Dean

World Class First Time Yield

With totally stable screen print (solder paste), placement and reflow processes, what is a world class target first time yield for good pcbs? How bad is 65% FTY. Your views would be welcome.

Re: World Class: Is it a philisophical question?

Did I miss something, is there a competition, a championship out there? World class with a bicycle or a racing car ? And still theres the question, whats the measure ? Stock quotes, workers, products, customers, nature ? It wouldnt be "world cla

Does anyone know there a standard matrix of clearances part to part for Class 2 and Class 3 board design. IPC does issue a preferred matrix but they are so liberal they not so useful in the real world. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

John, I hope your figures or numbers are part of your SPC process. Our management loves this stuff. I think the production line, world class or not would reflect the attitude of the people working on it(keep that between you and me) management does

Pick Place Change-overs, strengths, ages

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 16 16:51:24 EDT 1999 | Ryan

I have a number of hopefully easy questions: 1. Are there significant differences in the ease of change-overs and set-up among different equipment manufacturers? For example, are Siemens Siplace machines truly more modular than others? 2. Is ther
