okay so both the 2005 formulas from interflux are clear alchol based fluxes. Yellow res huh? In looking at the temps here, I would say you might be too hot at both preheat and solder temp. You may be burning flux. How long is dwell time over wave

Using no-clean flux going thru wave when comes out there is a bit of flux residue left on board. If wiped the residue shows a yellowish tint. Any ideas what this means how to get rid of it?

Sounds like a rosin flux. Is it sticky as well? Russ

Hi Steve, What type of flux? How do you apply it? What kind of wave? Rite off the cuff, I'd say you're applying too much flux, but without knowing a little more, it's tuff to say. It could even be board related. Hate to see what WML has to say

We agree with Russ. Your topside should be 100 - 130*C. Your 265*F is at the top of the range. Look here: http://www.interflux-electronics.com/Products/Fluxes/IF%202005M/TD%20IF%202005M.pdf#search=%22Interflux%20IF%202005%22

Sorry davef. I was not being clear. PCBAs came out cold soldered after being reflowed the first time with ALPHA WS-820. The flux gel ALPHA WS 609 was supposed to be applied only onto the terminations of caps where ALPHA WS-820 was for a second refl

I'm not sure what happened to my post, but we think to have got the situation under control. The solder joints on the boards looked terrible. I can only describe it as unburnt flux, maybe. (like if you took a spoonful of solder and sprayed flux direc

Hi everyone..i am new here. I am hardware design engineer and as per my experience PCBAs came out cold soldered after being reflowed the first time with ALPHA WS-820. The flux gel ALPHA WS 609 was supposed to be applied only onto the terminations of

My operator applied flux gel ALPHA WS-609 on MG P/N FTH101XAP (CAP ALUM 100UF 50V 20% SMD) before aqueous washing the PCBAs. Solder paste used was ALPHA WS-820. Now the caps have yellow stains. Any solution to this is appreciated. Tks

Yer not making this easy. What kind of flux? If no-clean flux, what controls are you using to assure you are: * Applying the correct amount of flux? * Properly activating the flux? If water washable flux, talk to us about your cleaning methods and
