Has anyone compared Mirtech with Yestech? I've done a demo with both machines using our own board and data and found that the Yestech was easier and took less time to program but that's a pretty small sample. Any input appreciated.

The company that I work for is a high-mix, mid-high volume manufacturer, and we also chose the YesTech AOI equipment. We currently have a YTV-2050 (the conveyorized machine with 5 cameras), and also the YTV-1000 (table-top version of the YTV-2050, wi

We did extensive side by side (by side) testing of three AOI machines Omron, YesTech and Mirtec. In the end, even with weighted scores, the difference in the top two machine was still only four/tenths of a point. Third place was a distant 14 points

I'm not familiar with SPC Plus. I'll assume it's a "statical process control" system. We use the SPC data collected by our YesTech AOI system, together with a custom, web-based reporting system for process analysis and defect reporting. I am actually

I am almost hesitant to mention my good fortune with our Yestech system, for fear that our advantage in the industry will be known. We have run a Yestech for about a year, the operator interface is very well organized. Data is scanned on the machin

By "digital video inspection system", I'll assume you mean AOI. I have only dealt with one AOI system, YesTech, and in my opinion I'd say that AOI is much more consistent and advantageous than manual microscope inspections. Specifically, with the Yes

My company is also looking at AOI. There is one group that is promoting flying probe ICT as well. We can only afford to purchase one or the other this year. Does anyone have data that compares advantages/disadvantages of each? I see them as comp

Hi Lou, If real process control and useful defect data is what you're looking for, Orbotech has some of the best tools available out there.

That's hard to quantify. I deal with escapes when they occur, but I haven't kept track of that data. It doesn't happen to often. But when it does, I take it back to the AOI to analyze why it escaped, and change the algorithm to catch it, if I can.

D?rty, I was actually under the same mission as you a little over a year ago, but have since given up on the impossible. I have however been developing software for the industry for the past year. I have made a BOM importing tool, which cleans the BO
