. Irregular shaped pads can be contoured in your CAD tool as Copper Polygons. Just create the basic footprint in FP Designer and edit it in your CAD tool library editor

. One of the IPC7351-C changes is that the courtyard by default has the contoured outline option enabled. this is a very nice feature but unfortunately the official ipc document that defines and describes this feaure is not public and hence not available
