The purpose of the testing was to compare the resistance and check for open circuit conditions of reworked BGA test samples made with and without StencilQuik™ after 500 thermal shock cycles. StencilQuick™ is a product of Best Inc. In this series of tests, the resistance of daisy chain resistance patterns running between the BGA and test board after exposure to thermal shock was measured.

In this article we will examine if there is a measurable difference in the printing performance when using stencils which have a higher tension than is commonly accepted in the industry. Alpha's new tensoRED™ High Tension Frame System will be introduced during this wider examination. We will examine their effect in terms of controlling variation in critical deposit volumes and what, if any effect on positional accuracy can be seen.

The effectiveness of cleaning stencils and misprinted/dirty printed circuit boards can be effectively monitored. This can be done by washing known clean circuit boards and then checking to see if they have stayed clean as a result of the washing process.
