Minneapolis, MN - The SMTA announced today that the highly respected SMTA International Conference and Exhibition will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas on October 16-20, 2011. Attendees and exhibitors can expect the same focused event with the strongest technical conference for which SMTAI has come to be known. The SMTA Board of Directors selected Fort Worth because of the central location between the coasts for easy access.

In recognition of their leadership and significant contributions of time and talent to IPC and the electronics industry, three IPC volunteers were presented with the IPC President's Award at IPC APEX EXPO in Anaheim, Calif., on April 9, 2024. Recipients were Nick Koop, TTM Technologies, Hiroyuki Watanabe, NEC Corporation, and Dieter Weiss, Weiss Engineering.

IPC has released the E revision of IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies. IPC's most widely-used standard, which provides visual acceptance criteria for post assembly mechanical and soldering assembly requirements, now addresses additional technologies, including flexible circuits, board in board, package on package, depanelization and additional SMT terminations.
