A new study, published by IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries® finds evidence that a labor shortage exists for electronics manufacturers and that other business issues make the problem worse for some segments of the industry. Based on data from 107 U.S. and Canadian electronics manufacturers and extensive secondary research, IPC Study of the North American Labor Pool for Electronics Manufacturing assesses the causes of the shortage of qualified labor for electronics manufacturing, and offers solutions.

Nordson ASYMTEK has developed Continuous Path Motion Control software for jetting underfill for flip chips. The software optimizes dispense head motion, saving time and increasing units per hour (UPH). Instead of stopping to move between die, backtracking, ramping to speed, dispensing, and decelerating, the dispense head maintains a continuous speed and direction throughout the process.

Nordson Electronics Solutions developed the patent-pending software, Automated Ratio Calibration Technology (ARC™ Technology), to enable easier set-up and sustained mix ratios for dispensing two-component (2K) fluid materials. ARC Technology is part of a system, which includes ASYMTEK Vortik® progressive cavity pumps and ASYMTEK dispensing platforms, that ensures consistently accurate mix ratios by volume or weight to improve overall dispense quality. On behalf of the SMTA International Technical Committee, we invite you to submit a 300 word abstract of your research for the 2016 SMTA International 2016 technical conference in Rosemont, Illinois. Papers should describe significant results from experiments, emphasize new techniques, and contain technical, economic or appropriate test data. We are looking for papers on a variety of topics related to electronics manufacturing including advanced packaging/components, assembly, business/supply chain, emerging technologies, harsh environment applications, PCB technology, and process control. Materials must be original, unpublished and non-commercial in nature.

This year, the cable and wire harness manufacturing industry came "wired" to the Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE), May 16-18, and left inspired with access to new technologies, solutions to challenging issues through training and education and a network of leading-edge companies, industry leaders and subject matter experts. Produced by the Wiring Harness Manufacturer's Association (WHMA), IPC and the Wisconsin Center, the event drew in a total of 3,049 attendees, an 18 percent increase over 2022.
