Feeder Finger announced the release of their embossed tape Finger for its key partner, Juki Automation Systems. Due to market demand, the teams at both Feeder Finger and Juki collaborated to design, build and test a finger specifically made to handle embossed tape. This product expansion is expected to garner pre-orders at SMTA International with full production available in November 2018.

The Feeder Finger division of Automation Technical Services, a San Diego-based company, has introduced a leaderless feeder for Europlacer pick-and-place machines. This innovative feeder eliminates the need for cover tape leaders when feeding entire reels and cut tape strips. It utilizes a plow blade design to fold and crease the cover tape flat as it travels through the feeder. Orders started pouring in before the devices were manufactured, signaling a strong desire for this product. Juki Corporation announces that its KE-3020 features the company’s latest leading-edge technology for improved flexibility and production quality. The system supports both electronic and mechanical tape feeders and can handle boards up to 22” x 24". With its multi-nozzle (six nozzles) laser head, the KE-3020 can achieve a rated IPC9850 speed of 17,100 cph and is capable of a component placement range from 01005 (0402 metric) to 74mm2.
