Michael Carano, director of new products and business development with OM Group Electronic Chemicals, LLC, has been appointed as the new chairman of the IPC Ambassador Council. Carano, who currently serves on IPC’s Board of Directors, succeeds the late Dieter Bergman.

The IPC Electronics Materials Forum is a new technical conference focused on developments in materials and processes associated with advanced electronics assembly and manufacturing for board fabrication, assembly and post-assembly protection. The three-day forum, to be held November 5-7 in Bloomington, Minn. will be co-located with a Pb-free Electronics Risk Management (PERM) Council meeting.

Since the "wild west" days of a relatively young printed circuit board industry when rules and infrastructure were not yet well established, Dennis “Denny” Fritz has been actively involved in IPC activities to help add structure, strength and vision to the industry. Today, he was honored with the IPC Raymond E. Pritchard Hall of Fame Award for his dedication and service to IPC and the industry. Presented at IPC APEX EXPO® in San Diego, the Hall of Fame Award represents IPC's highest level of volunteer recognition.
