Jeff Kennedy, Celestica, Inc. has been re-elected as President. Timothy Jensen, Indium Corporation, Richard Coyle, Ph.D., Nokia Bell Labs and Robert Kinyanjui, Ph.D., John Deere Electronics Solutions, Inc. were re-elected to the Board of Directors. Bill Cardoso, Ph.D., Creative Electron, Inc. has been newly elected to the Board of Directors.

The SMTA announced a session on QFN Assembly and Reliability will take place on Tuesday, October 18 during their annual conference, SMTA International, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Andrew Mawer of Freescale Semiconductor will chair the session and Viswam Puligandla, Ph.D., Nokia (Retired) will co-chair.

SMTA announces an expanded program for the final day of the SMTA International Conference, September 17 - 21, 2017 in Rosemont, Illinois. In addition to the Lead-Free Symposium, the technical committee expanded the Thursday program to four concurrent tracks. The three additional tracks will focus on Advanced Packaging Technology, Manufacturing Excellence, and Inspection Technologies.

IPC's second annual Conference on Electronics Assembly: Soldering, Assembly & Inspection, held in Budapest, Hungary last month saw an increase of 21 percent in attendees and a 44 percent increase in exhibitors over its inaugural event last year.
