sockets soldering

Electronics Forum | Sun May 16 20:47:25 EDT 2010 | aungthura

Thanks Dave I tried various sockts but all were failed. At SnPb profile,maximum- 230'c~240'c, the solder at sockets' pins not melted.Increasing to 250'C, the sockts were deformed.

Re: Alloy melting Points

Brian, 96.5Sn/3.5Ag is eutectic at 221 C 95Sn/5Ag has a melting range of 221 - 240 C Hope that helps you out...

BGA soldering

Electronics Forum | Tue Oct 28 09:24:10 EST 2003 | davef

Running a soldered BGA through a wave solder pot is very risky: * 230-240*C temperature of the pot could damage the device. * Solder in the pot will certainly cause bridging between BGA solder balls. * Solder in the pot could melt BGA solder balls.

Tin antimony mp = 236-240C 80Au / 20SN mp = 280C sn25 Ag10 sb = 365C There are very few high temperature service alloys. how about filling a 1400lb pot with 80% Gold! What is the application?

Ni/Sn plated parts

The parts are dated Mar 20 2004. My profile hits a peek of around 232-240c and is above 225 for around 30 seconds.

240C melt point. Maybe try a hair dryer also that should give you convection heat! kidding even though I have performed this and it did work. Russ

does potato can absorbed the solder or lead

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 02 21:03:44 EST 2006 | davef

A potato is: * 80 percent water * 20 percent solids Temperature: * Water boils at ~100*C * Your solder pot ~240*C If you want to try this experiment, talk someone else into doing it while you're on break.

Non wetting on fine pitch product

Electronics Forum | Fri Sep 08 08:00:41 EDT 2006 | davef

That's your clue. Your reflow is running ~240*C and your soldering iron is running ~370*C. Dial-up the heat.

hello, I found on label two information about MSL level : MSL-2 - 240C MSL-3 - 260C Does it corresponds to SnPb and Pb-free ?

Lead-free profile for big electrolytic cap

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 19 14:33:57 EDT 2008 | realchunks

My board reaches 240 C for 45 seconds. Most of my lead free parts require 230 C for a minimum of 30 seconds.
